Yes it is. You already know how to be a bedside nurse the hands on patient care. Now is the time to discover the various topics of leadership, administration, education, Nurse Practitioner...the fields are wide open. Your bedside experience will be very valuable while in school. Master's does not mean never seeing a patient again...it adds a whole new aspect of it.

If your facility will pay any or all of the tuition that is a bonus. Good luck.

If you enjoy learning and you have an employer that will help with your tuition, yes! It was an easy paper degree for me since I chose the leadership track, but I would only have to do a few more semesters and clinical rotations if I wanted to pursue my NP. Same with other tracks like education, informatics, CNS, etc. I like having the option to do that when I have more time.
It’s only worth it if you believe it to be. Good luck on your decision. I don’t regret mine and will probably pick up more classes or pursue other degrees when I can. ☺️

It depends on the reason why you are wanting to obtain a master. For me it was for personal grow. However, with that master degree it increased my marketability. I choice to remain in providing direct patient care but not necessary at the bedside. I have a master in management, therefore, I look at the process differently. I think I am a better nurse now, because I am more objective, I write better nurse notes and do not put my personal feeling in a situation.
We has nurses, have continued the debate regarding the entry level education for our professional. Meanwhile, other professional like pharmacy has already solved that debate. Much success in your decision. For me the "Master" was worth it.
