Is working at a religious hospital (like Adventist Health) worth it, when you are an atheist?

Religious hospital or not shall respect an individual's religion as dictated by the constitution, that of "freedom of religion." As long as your religious belief does not interfere with the hospital's religious practices and beliefs. It's an opportunity to learn others' religious beliefs and learn to compromise and form relationships.

I have worked for a couple hospitals that are Jewish faith based and I have never encountered any issues over not being Jewish. We learn in nursing school different aspects of “common” religious faiths and practices, so that we can ultimately give better care to our patients. In the end, working with a hospital that is religious based will make you a better nurse. While beliefs differ in many cultures, we have to adapt ourselves to meet the goals of quality patient care. Lastly, neither should a nurse should be asked to change his or her beliefs, nor that of a patient or hospital system. If a hospital does, or you do, then it’s a choice to move on to a job that is more suited for you and geared to not impose such restrictions upon either involved.

I don’t feel anything contradicting my belief. Even though it is Religious hospital, but your choice of practicing or not is still respected.
The only time I don’t feel belonged is when people are praying, because I don’t pray at all. It would be better if they eliminated that activity, or just simply give people a choice to not attend.

If you’re afraid that they are going to force feed you religion. Then don’t do it BUT if you’re looking for opportunities then don’t let anything stand in your way
