Advent health, one of the local health systems quoted me 44.20 per hour for 20 years experience. Recently they “maxed” out their rates. They also could not give me an answer about raises.

Hello there,
I’d say reasonable depends on your financial commitments and expectations.
Personally, as an RN with 23 years of experience, no hourly rate in FL seems reasonable to me. I knew it was going to be like that and I still struggle with accepting the reality here.
Take into consideration I’m an Endoscopy RN. However, in most places I’ve worked (CA, MN, FL) we did our own PreOp/PACU.
The pay cut has been astronomical moving from MN. The average offer has been $40-$43/h.
I’d advise you to also do your research in terms of other aspects of the job (and hospital reputation from nurses point of view) when making your decision. Some hospitals are offering a bonus, but be aware it’s not all paid right away. They want to make sure you stay with them, so the sum is usually divided in 4 installments: a month, 6 months, 12 months and 24 months later.
Good luck in your search!

Pay for nurses in Florida is not great. It is well below what northern states pay. If you have your specialty certification, that will help with your bargaining power. However, CHS hospitals do not reimburse for that. HCA facilities do in Charlotte County and I would presume that is across all hospitals. I would start at the $45/hour range and hope for the best. Also, ask if there is a differential for working in CVICU. I had that at in a HCA hospital and it made a great difference in my pay. Don't forget relocation/sign-on monies however, sometimes the payback can come back to haunt you. Good luck!

Are these quoted rates for full time with benefits or a PRN rate?
