Any apheresis nurse here that can share their experience?? Is it a good start if I want to be an infusion nurse?

I’m not sure on your questions if you want to be an apheresis nurse first and then infusion or the other way around. But you don’t need apheresis experience to be an infusion nurse.
I learned apheresis by starting off in infusion first. Find an infusion/apheresis unit. Cross train in this unit to be an apheresis nurse if you’re looking into learning apheresis. Having oncology background helped with apheresis.

I just started working as an apheresis nurse with only 8 months experience on a medical step down unit and barely any IV skills. I work for a bio specimen company and they’re training me! It a very different pace from bedside and a lot more relaxed.
