I was just working on a patient yesterday….I’m in Utilization Review/Management now….and the note said her HR was in the 160’s, and the pt didn’t feel it or feel SOB or nausea! She was moved to ICU.

CBG 28. I once had a septic patient with diarrhea and weakness. Her potassium was over 9!!!!! Also had an elderly woman who had a hematocrit of 3.8 who was alert and oriented. Amazed me the people who function in non life sustaining condition, while you have a younger, healthier patient code with negligible values.
