No but I highly recommend it. I just finished my year residency program and it was 100% worth it. I was able to grow my confidence by having a preceptor within arms reach for the year. My program allowed me the opportunity to go to all the different units within our hospital to experience new places and I ended up finding another passion to pursue.

No you don’t have to but I would recommend it. I didn’t get a nurse residency but I wish I had.

But you’ll have to do. 3 plus month in-house training, at least where I work , w new grad classes scattered in between .
