Position of pt. If patient has pain med order and can have it about 30-45 min before, give it. Distraction, just talk to pt & get them to tell you their interests, do they have a pet, goal is distraction.
What kind of dressing: always use skin prep under. Helps to secure dressing such as the tape or the wound vac dressings then it’s easier to come off while protecting the skin. You can try saline to loosen but all that does to often is make a mess.
