Why aren't some nurses who are required to care for Covid patients paid hazard pay?

Because the MBA's that run healthcare don't care about the nurses. They care about the $$.

It depends on the facility and or company. It may be not be safe in the budget. However I have received hazard pay and I certainly wouldn’t work without it,
I am fully vaccinate and hand received the booster.

Only a few companies offer hazard pay. Some offer COVID PTO pay. I think it is something that we should really request from our organizations.

Then you get hazard pay for MRSA, Influenza, MDRO's, and any other patients that require isolation. Yes it is cost, but there are guidelines for wearing PPE.
