What does the day look like for a family nurse practitioner?

Depends on the clinic you work in. They often have different expectations on the amount of patients seen in a day and how long your appointments are. You are dealing with phone calls, refills, prior authorizations, and putting out fires in between patients. If you work in a well structured and healthy clinic, that work is not burdensome, but on the flip side, a poorly ran clinic can make or break you.
