I’m a 15 yr nurse most recent experience is in inpatient psych and working as a director of 49 bed and expanding to 79 beds. I want to leave bedside but I’m not sure where to start? Any ideas?

Have you considered Hospice care, or Home health care. Both allow more one on one care that allows you more time to focus on the individual patient.

i had been a floor nurse for years, went to Home Health and Hospice and you still deal with limited timeconstraints to get things done, on call rotations and holidays, I spent the last 20 yrs doint Telephone Triage for a pediateric hospital, we worked from home taking calls from the community and some Dr's offices and all of the hospitals clinics. We would triage the child give advice of what the parent could do or when the child needed to be seen and where. It was a 24 hr department and we still worked Holidays and Weekends, but no hands on, no lifting, no exposure to illnessess. I learned a lot and there are positions that do both peds and adults together. It is still nursing you are doing a lot of teaching and most places use protocols you follow to give advice. Some Drs offices have nurses that kind of do the same thing. i know there are psych on call 24 hr triage jobs available if you are interested in staying in that position.
