You cannot simply start working in a hospital right out of HS. You will need to get your CNA certificate in order to work. Some hospitals offer programs that will assist in obtaining your LVN to RN.

Unfortunately, it’s doubtful that you can get a job as a nurse right out of high school. I would think you would have to a least have your CNA certification to get a foot in the door. If you want to work as a licensed nurse, you have to go to either LPN or RN school. Some specialty areas only hire Registered nurses

Do not fall for jobs or programs that will take you off track. Career staff and counselors at your local college may be able to ask you the right questions and offer assessments that help you know yourself. Develop a vision, dream, goals - whatever you want to call it — that includes your priorities, strengths, values, passions. Taste and enjoy this view of your future that includes your desired outcomes along the way with desired emotions. These services are probably free, so dont fall for gimmicks. There is a great youtube video by Wellcoaches, What is Coaching? It is a graphic, wordless illustration of this process that looks like a pen and paper drawing that comes to life. Do not give up. Turn off TV and negative input. Watch movies of people who have had courage to overcome obstacles, step by step. My latest one was Million Miles Away. Also, see online the graphic for Ikigai - to show another way to find the career that fits you. Enjoy the ride discovering your God Given purposes

Hi!😊 You can apply to hospitals for a CNA position and they will train you. And then you can attend a JC for an AA in Nursing and complete your nursing prerequisites at the same time. You can then take a Nursing Program at a JC or at a University. You also can go to a Private Nursing School, but they tend to be very expensive, unless you can qualify for financial assistance.
Good luck to you!!! I have been an RN, BSN, RNC for 40 years.😊 Not only has it been a great paying career, with great benefits, but also rewarding emotionally!!😁
