I have over 4 years of Operating Room RN experience in different countries and obtained my California RN license in July. Since then, I have been applying for Operating Room RN positions but have not yet secured a job. Any advice?

I would make sure your doing a few things if your not already.
~ make sure your resume is condesed and shows entire work history as Rn not just OR.
~ send resume and cover letter so you can explain why your a great candidate for that specific location.
~ Do your do diligence on the hospital your applying, so when you get a call back you can speak to the things they provide at that specific hospital that sets them apart~ why you want to work there etc...
~Always follow up! Do your research and find out who the director and manager are for the hospital and contact them. Inform them you applied and you are just following up and shows your interest and what sets you apart from the rest ect..
~Also if you don't get passed the recruiters your resume won't even reach the hiring manager. Get a hold of recruitment and let them know after a few days of course. You applied and are following up. Let them know who you are.

That's typical of California. They have so many people they can choose from that they don't care. I had applied to several jobs and never heard back from them even though I meet all the requirements they ask for. I just gave up tbh.

I have been trying for a year! I am to the point where I am trying to figure out how to afford to move out there and live until I find a job. It’s very frustrating, especially when jobs I applied and sometimes interviewed for are reposted on their job site.

If you are from California there are a lot of job openings in California right now. Are you in the US or are you living outside US?

I would move to a smaller town to apply at smaller rural hospitals that need you. Then after a couple of years you can apply anywhere. I hope this helps.
