Should I quit my job? Im a new grad still training with 3 months in a clinic. But the work environment is hostile. My boss is bad mouthing me to all my co-workers and I'm already being isolated. Do I quit and go to med surg or stay for 6 months-1yr?

In my experience, once people get a bad opinion of you it is very hard to change it unfortunately. It's unfair but that is what happens in toxic environments. It is also very hard to learn as a new grad while in a negative environment. I would look for a new position and when asked why your leaving keep it positive and say it just isn't a good fit for me right now.

In my opinion you should confront your boss about the rumors. Unless she has said it directly to you you don’t know how true it is! Good luck!

be very careful: you are a new grad "a baby", you do not have as many skills as the seasoned nurses. What you consider bad-mouthing may be the manager talking to the nurses about setting up training courses for you. Explain what you mean by isolated? . I would absolutely NOT speak to your supervisor about it. You will be the one being seen as a troublemaker. Once you are labelled, it will be very hard to get a new position: you will not get any references. The best thing to do is to try to last for 6 months,. Then, plan to transfer but keep it courteous and professional. If the manager asks why are you leaving, say something like." I got really good training here and that has given me confidence to move on to my next experience.. " These cases are impossible to prove: HR is management friendly, not employee friendly. Try NOT to take it personally, just use this experience as one of many you are going to have.

do not talk about what you THINK is going on or answer any questions from any staff members, make sure you are on time, come back from lunch a little early, do NOT take a sick day the day after you were yelled at. BE PREPARED with your patients and try to bide your time,
