What is the most stressful specialty?

Cardiac cath lab / interventional cardiology

Anesthesia

Surgery

Although often they are oblivious I think that Labor and Delivery should be. That department is staffed like an inpatient area but functions as an ER. Although most of the time things go without complications things can turn bad without warning. Also, at anytime someone can show up abrupting or develop an amniotic embolism and arrest instantly. I would never work there for those reasons.

Currently ICU and Med-Surg Covid units have the most stress at our hospital. Our COVID numbers are off the chart and the stress physically and emotionally that comes with caring with these very ill patients is unbelievable. (I currently work in labor and delivery FYI)
