How often does a PRN nurse typically work?

As much as they want!

Most places as often as you like. Your scheduled days may dip if the census goes down. It would better suit you if you can be flexible in your shift, days and cross training. It has worked for me in my 33 years as a nurse.

Our per diem staff work a minimum of 24 hours in a 6 week block off time but can pick up more if they want or even for enhanced pay times. They do have to pick up one holiday a year and do 1 weekend shift each time period.

Depends on the facility> Mine requires 1 shift a month.
