There are no cons-it’s like working in any other hospital. The only difference is your patient population is mostly men Also you get to take care of veterans-people who answered our nation’s call

Where in the Bay Area? If it's a VA hospital you might have a chance. If it's a DOD facility which allows the VA to work at there beloved hospital. David Grant Medical Center. Run and find another job. I would try KP, John Muir and Contra Costa County before I would work for the VA.
I worked at Travis AFB for almost a decade. Union is useless, because your on DOD soil. I was unable to tell my side of a situation. Of course, an AF officer would never lie?
I was working on the MHU at Travis.

Hi there,
I have applied for a nurse practitioner position at least 3 times at the Veterans Administration but never get an interview. Are there any tricks so to speak to get a job? It would be an honor and a privilege to care for our military veterans; though I have never served in the military! Thanks and best wishes!
