I am a new grad and have been doing Medsurg/Tele for almost a year- 2 weeks will be my 1 year mark. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the pros and cons of the ICU. Is one year of medsurg enough of a foundation before making the transition to ICU?

You will learn do much more in ICU. More internal means vents and drips.

Everyone starts from somewhere. If I began my career already understanding nursing I would not have needed school. You are allowed to learn, to progress, and get the opportunities you seek to advance your career. The question you should ask yourself is do you truly want this. If so, learn. That’s what’s most important- learning.
