How much room for negotiation is there typically for nursing job offers?
Ask for a sign on bonus and a 2 year retention bonus. If you leave prior to 3 years you pay back for the years you breached.
My position is not salaried, therefore there was room to negotiate, but a small window. I asked for $2.00 more and they offered $1.40. However, with the nursing shortages during the Pandemic, that may afford you better negotiations.
For the actual hands on caregiver there is not much room to negotiate unless there is a critical need.
I have been a RN for over 40 years and not much has changed.
Do some salary searchs. It does not hurt to ask for more $$$
Depends on several factors but know the organization, community, and rates within the state and nearby. Make sure to sell yourself and while you're looking continue to upskill yourself.
