I am currently in my last semester of nursing school, due to some circumstances, do you think working a part-time job (2 days a week instead of 3) would be beneficial for me in order to develop the skills I need to become a great nurse?

the more clinical hours you have the better skill development you will get. I will say this I have been a nurse since 2006 and nursing has changed drastically. No matter what everyday is a day filled with experiences.

Yes working two days a week is beneficial especially if you are working 8 -12 hours shifts on patient care. I think you will be able to see quite a bit such as insertion of foley or doing an EkG on patient that had a change in rhythm and learning about policies and procedures in a clinical setting. Your resume will shine!

The more you work, the more experience you'll gain. I did 5 days/ week to get tons of experience.

No, you should be focusing on your last semester of nursing school. I am not sure of your circumstances, but if you have to work, you could be a Patient Care Tech or Nurse Extern and work weekends if allowed. I worked weekends while in nursing school so I could focus on nursing during the week. Good Luck and I hope that it all works out for you.

You'll have to do an internship which have specific start days and are usually full time positions. I feel like as a brand new nurse you need the full time hours to reallyearn your skill. Being a nurse in the real world is vastly different than nursing school.
