I have been a LVN for over a decade. But I just graduated, and passed the state boards. I am having a hard time finding employment due to being a new grad. Any advice to help me stand out would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I’m sorry to hear about your struggles finding employment, especially with such rich experience. But perhaps cater your search towards residency programs, or look for opportunities at hospitals affiliated with universities as those are often teaching hospitals and are more welcoming to new grads. Potentially broaden your search to different areas? It would be inconvenient to move, but we can’t let your new degree go to waste.

I did the same, hard as heck. Contact one of the places you did a clinical rotation at? Or search through agencies that are looking for new grad placement? Nursing homes always seem to be hiring? Ask one of the teachers at your school, maybe the have an idea or can refer you? Best of luck!
