Be specific about what you want from them. Very specific. Then f/u with a compliment if job well done, a review of stated expectations and how lack of follow through could endanger the client.

First I would find out why they are avoiding this patient. Could it be that the patient may have said something to them, made them feel uncomfortable, or does not want them in the room?
