How do I get a case manager certification for LPN?

August 7th, 2023

I don't believe LPNs are licensed to be case managers. You have to be an RN because you are making diagnoses and assessing for you patient's care. (discharge planning is a nursing treatment plan). LPNS are not licensed to do care plans. Certain hospitals and Insurance companies allow LPNs to do utilization review but you will always be supervised by a registered nurse. It would be a good way to learn one part of the case management umbrella. Please keep in mind that even LPNs need years of patient care experience before they would be able to do UR.
