One effective way to manage stress and avoid burnout is to practice self-care. As nurses, we often give so much to others. However, we must make ourselves a priority. It is very difficult to pour from an empty container. We also need to be cared for in a holistic manner. Most employers talk about having a work-life balance, but it is up to us as nurses to make sure we really have it!
