Have you ever dealt with sexual harassment and assault in the workplace and how was it dealt with? I am a new grad with traumatic experiences that relate to these. These could be with colleagues or patients

I was sexually assaulted by a coworker. It was pretty much swept under the rug. I got a court order specifying that this RT could not work on my unit. It was pretty smooth when normal staff was in charge. If there were people filling in as charge or manager, it required embarrassing explanation. One relief lead asked me to show documentation as proof. I refused and told him that was an utter violation of my privacy. Pretty much re-victimizing the victim. For years I would have flashbacks and I was certain I couldn't take proper care of my patients if that were to happen. If it happened again, well frankly I'd accidentally on purpose inject him with something appropriate. Turned me into a badass marathon runner though.

I’ve experienced harassment and bullying from a coworker. Reported it like I was supposed to nurse manager and sent screen shots of texts showing such. There was a meeting with HR. He was placed “on probation” with no real consequences, I on the other hand had a target placed on my back. Even though it is not supposed to have repercussions there definitely were. My advice is good luck, I would have it all in emails (not sent by work email) that way if it comes back on you and end up getting fired you still have your proof you reported and can show that to lawyer or different hr that maybe over it. (As it was a small hospital that reported to a larger system)

Have never dealt with this but it's unacceptable in every work place. Report it to HR and make sure it's documented. Don't be intimated coz you're a new grad.
