I am not sure today. But back in the 1980's you just needed to be an RN with 2 or 4 year degree. They did not take diploma nurses ie. Trained by a hospital

The requirements to become a nurse and commissioned Officer in the Army National Guard are: Be a United States citizen. Be 21-48 years old. Have an Associates Degree in nursing or a 3 year nursing diploma, and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN). Contact a Medical Air Force Recruiter in you're area. Most rewarding job.
