Where are you located? Centene corporation has some opportunities all over the country. CM is fast paced but it’s also convenient and easier on the body than bedside nursing or home care. Hope this helps. Melina

I would do job board searches, to find one that resonates with you. I chose Humana because I liked what I read about the company, and I wanted a work at home (WAH) position. I worked for my last 4 years, then retired (I graduated with my initial degree, ADN, 1987). I absolutely loved working for them. They are very good to their employees. I did go through multiple downsizing, layoffs during my years there as the company was making itself stronger. That was stressful, and I lost some co-workers from that. I did not live in a compact state, so ended up getting 4 more state licenses, but all that was paid for by the company (reimbursed). It can be a stressful job as most of the initial calls were cold calls to members and their was some skeptical folks, not always pleasant. However helping members was very rewarding and there was so many support systems. I was blessed with 3 fantastic coaches, however I can say not all the teams were as blessed. I would definitely go back to that job if I ever decide to return to nursing. My board certification was in Nursing Professional Development, which was different, I chose not to get a different one because I was still able to find niches to volunteer for different activities. The company was beginning to really embrace different board certifications when I left. Good luck!!

Hi! You noted you want to transition to case management, but you have to be a case manager already in order to get certified…did you lose the role you were in? Once you have CM experience and especially if you are certified, you should have no problem finding positions. Just start sending out resumes and applying and you’ll be in.
