Find out what the nursing residency consists of. If it’s a years worth of clinical and didactic then absolutely. At Penn in Philly they have a beautiful nurse residency. It basically puts you in a kind of bubble but with responsibility now.

Tends what you want to do all hospitals do not have all services. Tampa good teaching hospital and will provide good experiences. Yes for residency to have a mentor to help you learn the ropes not in text books. I am in Orlando but went to Galen in Tampa. I did a residency at Lakeland Regional and it was a year long. First 6-12 weeks is with a preceptor. I was a LPN so I was ready to be on my own after the six. They did frequent check-in with me to see how I felt. I hated HCA just from doing clinicals with them and learning their business practices but they are a large system in Florida. Southbay wasn’t bad because it a smaller hospital. Hated Brandon though. Anyway, that’s my personal issue. Residency is good idea because if you are brand new there is lots of support before putting you out there on your own.
