Is it possible to get a job again as RN after a year of not working. I only worked for 9 months as a med/surg nurse after graduating then quit due to stress?

I can tell you that it is possible to get a job as an RN after taking a break from work. Many nurses take time off for various reasons, such as raising a family or dealing with personal issues, and then return to work later on. If you are interested in returning to work as an RN, you may need to take some refresher courses or complete continuing education requirements to update your skills and knowledge. You can also network with other nurses and healthcare professionals to learn about job openings and opportunities. I hope this helps!

Yes, as long as your license is valid you can work. Just be honest at your interview and I’m sure they will understand. Most places give you a thorough orientation and coworkers are normally willing to help as well.

Yes you can. Keep your license current and if you are due for renewal, you may be asked if you are currently working. I think if it has been a number of years you haven’t worked as a Registered Nurse, they may require a refresher course only. Hope this helps 😊

You do not say if your stress was caused by your work or some other factor. IF it was work-related, please consider what specific events were the greatest stress-inducers and avoid jos which might repeat this scenario. This means you may need to switch specialty focus, work in another environment (outpatient vs. hospital, etc.), etc. IF your stress was family/pesonal engendered, be sure you have resolved it as far as possible so that it does not interrupt your career once again. You will be able to find a ob, but which one will cause you the least stress is something to consider carefully before going back. Be sure you have a refresher course to recall all the info and skills you may have let lapse a bit. BEst of luck to you.

As long as your license is still active, definitely there’s many nursing Jobs out there to get into, not all have to be bedside.
