You have not yet practiced your skills enough so that they have become second nature. It's tough to hit the deck running unless you do that, however... you might consider starting in a urgent care cliinic or physician's office where you will be ble to get your assessment skills down pat and learn more about the medicines you have studied as you see their effects and the various ways they can be used. Consider working as a "wellness nurse" in an assisted living where you will not have to deal with acute situation on a daily basis beyond passing out meds as the pateints come to the nure's office to receive them. You might also look into community residences for mentally ill patients where you will assist the live-in team (usually social worker and their assistants)to teach health and safety to their patients and administer medications to them.
