You could start with home health care with special needs kids. I've been doing it for almost 10 years. It's a 1:1 setting, so you have the time for full patient care without feeling overwhelmed, rushed, or having someone over your shoulder. It has given me experience in care that I might not have had in other areas, such as feeding tubes, trach care, and vents, that you would experience in ICU.
