How do nursing supervisors measure their team's workload?

seems to be random. All these patients have to be seen, do it. IT does;t matter how many patients are per/nurse. The supervisor certainly isn't going to help. She won't ask admin for extra help either because it will look like she can't handle her patient flow..so, its up to the staff nurses to make her look like a good manager by taking all the patients assigned.
