I am a new grad in Northern California in the Sacramento area. I have not seen any positions eligible for new graduates in the hospitals. I find it odd since us new grads have to start somewhere, but don’t have the opportunity. What do I do?

Apply to any staff nurse II positions you see posted. If they want you after an interview, most facilities will rewrite to job as a new grad position to hire you. Get letters of recommendation, write an excellent cover letter outlining your previous work experience that will directly help you with being a nurse.

I’m in sacramento and there is so much competition, plus the new grad programs are very few and hundreds apply. I had to apply to a new grad away from the bigger hospitals then went back to sac after more than a year of experience to be even considered an interview.
